More in this category: « Valle de la Puerta
  • Country: Argentina
  • About: Overseeing 500-hectares (1,236 acres) of vineyards, the winery is located at the foot of the Andes, a place of unsurpassed beauty. Finca La Celia was born in 1882, year in which Eugenio Bustos, its founder, decides to move south of the river Tunuyán in order to develop an estate which, among other things, had a low altitude pass that bordered the neighboring Republic of Chile. This pass was used to herd cattle to the port of San Antonio. The construction of the winery starts in 1890, being the first one to settle in the Uco Valley. Later, Celia Bustos, Eugenio´s daughter, inherited the property. She, with her strong personality and leadership, works these lands, converting them into prosperous vineyards. In 2000, Finca La Celia was acquired by the Viña San Pedro Tarapacá Wine Group, leading company in the wine business both in Chile and Argentina. Thus, the winery has been expanded, renovated and equipped with state of the art technology made in France and Italy, combining classical architecture and modern machinery.
